The following Mantra to be recited by girls and married women while wearing the varalakshmI vratam saradu (yellow thread) in the right hand on completion of the varalakshmI pUja:-
navatantum samAyuktam navagranthi samanvitam !
badhnIyAm dakshiNe haste dorakam harivallabhe !!
