भगवान् श्रीवेदव्यास गुरुपूर्णिमा प्रार्थना
वेदपुराणदातारं विराट्विष्णुस्वरूपिणम्।
वेदान्तसूत्रकर्तारं वेदव्यासमहं भजे॥

THE ESSENCE OF SRIMAD BHAGAVATAM

The essence of Srimad Bhagavatam is seen in Chapters X-46 and X-47 which present the deeply touching story of Uddhava going to Vrndavana at the behest of the Supreme Lord Krishna.
The greatness of the unconditional Vatsalya bhava of Nand Maharaj and Yasoda is described in Chapter X-46. The glories of the exalted Prema Bhakti of the Gopis are picturized in Chapter X-47. The pangs of their separation from Krishna and their constant and seamless thoughts about Krishna Lilas both in the moods of Vatsalya bhava and Prema bhava bring in tears and melts one’s heart.

WHETHER ALL VIRTUES ARE FOUND ONLY IN THE WEALTHY?

One who has wealth is considered a person of noble descent, a scholar,
highly learned in Vedic scriptures, embodiment of all virtues, an
orator, and one deserving to be seen. All the qualities verily depend
upon wealth alone.
This only reflects the deluded mentality of many people.
यस्यास्ति वित्तं स नर: कुलीन: स पण्डित: स श्रुतवान् गुणज्ञ:।
स एव वक्ता स च दर्शनीय: सर्वे गुणा: काञ्चनमाश्रयन्ति ॥

One blemish gets lost in the midst of many virtues just like the spot of the Moon getting lost in the midst of its rays.
But the great Poet Kalidasa who says as above (Kumara Sambhava 1-3) does not see the fact that one quality of poverty conceals even crores
of virtues of a person.
एको हि दोषो गुणसन्निपाते निमज्जतीन्दोरिति यो बभाषे ।
न तेन दृष्टं कविना समस्तं दारिद्यमेकं गुणकोटिहारि ॥
