SRI RADHA TATTVAM

श्रीगोविन्दप्रियां राज्ञीं वृन्दावनमनोहरीम्
कृपास्वरूपिणीं दिव्यां राधादेवीं नमाम्यहम् ||

The glory of  Radha’s divine name is so great that Krishna bestows prema bhakti instantly to one who starts saying the first syllable ‘RA’. Krishna goes into ecstatic raptures instantly and his joys fully bloom. When the devotee completes the second syllable ‘DhA’ instantly Krishna gets lovingly intoxicated, gets completely lost in trance and uns after him who chants the nectar-like name of Radha
'रा' शब्दोच्चारणादेव स्फितो भवति माधवः
'धा' शब्दोच्चारतः पश्चाद् धावत्येव सम्भ्रमः
--- ब्रह्मवैवर्त पुराण
Radha manifests especially in the form of hladini Sakti signifying  the exalted pleasure potency  of Krishna. Radha is the personification of transcendental rasa of the supreme
order who matchlessly enchants
Krishna by all means. Radha is the svarupa Sakti of Krishna and is the  greatest teacher of Krishna prema.  The matchless love of Radha is referred to as  ‘prema guru. The  exalted prema of Radha inspires Krishna as a student to perform novel dances.
Radha is  the holistic and complete Sakti and Krishna is the holistic and complete SaktimAn. Based on Vedic scriptural evidence, there is no difference between Radha and Krishna. They are verily the same just like musk and scent and fire and heat. For enjoying the mellows of  loving pastimes, though they have taken two apparently different forms, Radha and Krishna are indeed  one only.

SRI RADHASHTAMI CELEBRATIONS – 9th SEPTEMBER 2016 - FRIDAY

Sri  Radha is none other than Sri Mahalakshmi, who out of great compassion, facilitates the individual Self to get the divine grace of the Supreme Bhagavan Sri Krishna, the glorious Yogesvara. According to the Scriptures, the best way to approach Sri Krishna is through first obtaining the boundless grace of Sri Radha. Even a grave sinner gets redemption through her ceaseless divine grace and becomes purified to serve the lotus feet of Sri Radhakrishna.  Let us not miss this opportunity to offer our humble and sincere prayers to the ever fresh and fragrant queen of Brindavan. On this most auspicious Radhashtami  day, may Sri Radha shower Her blessings on all.

HOLI CELEBRATIONS

The grand festival of Holi is connected with many incidents from the Scriptures.
Hiranyakasipu asked his sister Holika to take Prahlada in her  lap and enter a  huge ball of fire.  As Holika  had the boon that she would not be burnt by fire, Hiranyakasipu tried to kill his son Prahlada through her . But by divine intervention it did not work and Prahlada was saved while Holika died. In remembrance of this  Holika dahan (burning of Holika)  is done .
Krishna applied various colours on Radha and other  Gopis and  all of them enjoyed in  exalted ecstasy.
Ogress Putana  was killed by Krishna on this day.
This day  is also in relation to the episode of   Kamadeva being burnt by Siva while the former attempted to  disturb his meditation.
Ogress Dhundhi  gave a lot of trouble to children in the kingdom of Raghu .  The Children  drove her  away  by their pranks on this day.  Even today Children play many pranks and fling abuses during Holika dahan.
Holi represents joyful  play with colours and waters.
Let us remember the delightful plays of Radha and Krishna on this auspicious day.
Happy  Holi.

RADHA- THE SECRET OF ALL SECRETS

Radha is unique, divine, authentic, mystic, subtle, esoteric as well as mysterious. In spite of worshipping Radha for a long time, still it is very difficult for many to understand her in the proper perspective. She is undoubtedly the secret of all secrets. Radha  represents the hladini  sakti  in terms of holistic bliss. The loving relationship between Radha and  Krishna can be viewed from multiple dimensions in terms of Prakruti and Purusha, Sakti and Saktiman, whiteness and milk,  heat and  fire, fragrance and earth and so on. Radha is the Prana Sakti of Krishna and is considered as  his dear Atma. Radha lovingly worships Krishna and Krishna too worships her intimately.

GODA AND RADHA

SrI RAdhA is MahAlakshmI in the form of NIlA DevI. She is worshipped with intense prema bhakti bhAva by AzhvArs and AndAl (GodA) as Nappinnai. She is also fondly adored as Pinnai. Pinnai MaNAlan is verily RAdhA Vallabha.

Along with chanting of TiruppAvai , chanting of SrI RAdhA KrupA katAksha Stava helps one to gain the bliss of Krishna katAksha and His divine association.

SrIgovindapriyAm rAjnIm vrndAvana manoharIm !
KrpAsvarUpiNIm divyAM rAdhA devIm namAmyaham !!

I offer my respectful obeisances to the Goddess Sri Radha Devi, Sri Krishna’s beloved Queen, the source of the beauty of Brindavan, who is auspicious and is of the form of mercy.

SrIrAdhikAkrpApAtrAm vishNucittasutAm sudhAm !

I offer my respectful obeisances to SrI Goda DevI (AndAl) who is blessed by SrI RAdhA DevI (in the form of NIla DevI), the nectar like daughter of SrI Vishnu citta (PeriyAzhvAr), immersed in Sri Krishna Prema Bhakti.

COMPASSION OF KRISHNA AND SANATANA DHARMA

In each avatAra, BhagavAn shows his deepest compassion to all irrespective of their affiliations. In RAmAyaNa, he blessed vAnara (sugrIva) , Pakshi (JatAyu) , hunter (Guha), rAkshasa (vibhIshaNa) and so on. He is freely accessible to one and all irrespective of caste, creed or colour.

The following important Slokas are pramANas that BhagavAn is there to take care of those who surrender to him unconditionally.

BhagavAn SrI LakshmI VarAha has assured as follows, which is known as varAha carama Sloka :
sthite manasi susvasthe SarIre sati yO nara: !
dhAtusAmye sthite smartA viSvarUpam ca mAmajam !!
tatastam mriyamANam tu kAshtha pAshANa sannibham !
aham smarAmi madbhaktam nayAmi paramAm gatim !!

Whomsoever worships BhagavAn SrI LakshmI varAha when he is healthy, is fondly remembered by BhagavAn Himself during his last moment of departure from this world and is escorted by His divine grace to SrI Vaikuntha , His Supreme abode.

SrI RAma's assurance is known as SrI RAma carama sloka, which is as follows:
sakrudeva prapannAya tavAsmIti ca yAcate !
abhayam sarva bhUtebhyo dadAmyetad vratam mama !!
--- RAmAyaNa

One who seeks refuge in SrI RAma by stating just once that he belongs to SrI RAma is given assurance of total safety against all types of beings . This is the vow of SrI RAma.

Sarva dharmAn parityajya mAmekam SaraNam vraja !
Aham tvA sarva pApebhyo mokshayishyAmi Ma Sucah !!

--- Bhagavad GIta

BhagavAn KrshNa assures that He would deliver one from all sins if one unconditionally surrenders to Him. Hence there is no sin which the Supreme cannot nullify.

We have to keep in mind that VarNASrama dharma is meant for those for whom they have been prescribed by the Dharma SAstras. Those people alone have to perform them as Karma Yoga and at the ripened exalted stage it is only Bhakti towards KrshNa that permeates and there is no other karma to be done by them.

There are people in this world who are not covered by VarNASrama dharma like foreigners belonging to other faiths by birth. For them, there is no need to follow VarNASrama dharma as they are outside the ambit of sanAtana dharma. Whomsoever desires on his own free volition after reflection and contemplation to follow KrshNa, he is most welcome to do so. However, sanAtana dharma does not prescribe any mode of  change from one VarNa to another or outside VarNa to any VarNa. In case one gets attracted to KrshNa due to his vAsanas, he has to be treated with great respect as BhAgavata. But there is no need to mix up this with VarNASrama dharma, which is not applicable to them. They are entitled to study the purANas as applicable in the case of non-dvijas..

 strI SUdra dvijabandhUnAm
trayI na Sruti gocarA
karma Sreyasi mUdhAnAm
SreyA evam bhaved iha
Iti bhAratam AkhyAnam
krupayA muninA krutam !!
-- SrImad BhAgavatam
However, wearing of YajnopavItam , recitation of Vedas and performance of Yajnas by such people are not sanctioned in Vedic scriptures. These are not required as they have already related directly to KrshNa and through his divine grace, they can attain his supreme abode

SrI NammazhvAr has clearly mentioned in his TiruvAimozhi that he himself is the humble servant of one who is the dAsa of KrshNa, even though such a person is born in any jAti outside the ambit of CaturvarNam.

kulam tAngu sAdigaL nAlilum keezh izhindu,
ettanai nalamtAnilAda saNdAla saNdALargaLAgilum,
valam tAngu sakkarataNNal maNivaNNarkkALenRu uL
kalandAr, adiyAr, tam adiyAr, em adigaLE
--- TiruvAimozhi
