The real role of a Guru, father,mother or demi-God is to redeem the dependents from the vicious cycle of births and deaths. One who cannot do so is not a real Guru, father, mother or demi-God.
Gurur na syat sva jano na sa syat
pita na sa syaj janani na sa syat !
daivam na tat syan na patis ca sa syan
na mocayed yah samupeta mrutyum !!
